Our priority is to develop the next generation of philanthropists by providing a platform for youth to learn about healthcare philanthropy. The CMAF Youth Advisory Council (Youth Council) is an organization that educates youth on the processes surrounding youth health and wellness-related philanthropy and grantmaking. It is comprised entirely of students, ages 13 to 18, and is an integral part of our organization.

The Youth Advisory Council supports programs that target youth health priorities. Since its inception in 2001, they have made more than $361,000 in grants affecting youth in the central Ohio community!

In 2025, they have provided grants to the following organizations that support their funding priorities:


The Youth Council’s current health funding priorities include:

  • Mental Health and Suicide

  • Addiction and Substance Abuse

  • Racial, Gender, Socio-economic Equity

  • Basic Needs (e.g., food, shelter, clothing, etc.)

  • Bullying and Peer Pressure

  • Body Image and Self Esteem

  • Violence and Crime

  • Prevention of Diseases and Conditions
