“You know how they say it takes a village to raise a kid? Well, in these times, it takes a village to help and assist a family.”

Foundation Priorities

CMAF’s goal is to improve the provision and coordination of and access to acute primary and specialty healthcare services for Central Ohio’s uninsured, underinsured, and most vulnerable population.

PCC is a volunteer-based healthcare organization that specializes in providing and coordinating healthcare and related social services that directly influence the quality of life for people who are vulnerable.

They operate a free clinic that provides medical, dental, and vision services and links patients to physicians in private offices. They also provide care coordination that connects patients to healthcare and community resources.

To support this targeted priority and PCC’s effort to provide and coordinate safety net clinical services for the vulnerable, donate today.

The CMAF supports a regionalized system of care, coordinates resources that deliver needed services, and addresses the issues confronting trauma and emergency services in an effort to save and improve lives in Central Ohio.

COTS, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a voluntary, cooperative, self-regulating network of hospitals, city and county officials, and healthcare professionals whose focus is to improve patient outcomes related to trauma, emergency services, and disaster preparedness. They maintain an inclusive system where independent healthcare partners work together to resolve issues and facilitate initiatives that accomplish appropriate resource utilization.

COTS serves as a liaison between fire departments, EMS organizations, and hospital emergency departments and uses collaboration and a shared value approach to solve difficult healthcare delivery challenges through evidence-based research, data collection, and best practices. They coordinate public-private partnerships that facilitate, support, and strengthen healthcare and the ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. They work with trauma centers, acute care hospitals, emergency departments, and other experts to coordinate access and the provision of care to the injured. They coordinate and provide trauma education programs to assure that optimal trauma and emergency healthcare is provided in Central Ohio and elsewhere

To support this targeted priority and COTS’ effort to provide service and coordinate the utilization of trauma and emergency resources to improve patient outcomes, donate today

The Physicians Leadership Academy (PLA) was established in 2013 by the Columbus Medical Association to facilitate exceptional physician leaders in the central Ohio community. It is a 10-month intensive program that combines wellness with leadership.

The PLA reconnects practicing physicians with their original purpose for becoming physicians. Through the PLA curriculum, physicians become re-energized around their purpose and the PLA shows them a practice that helps them stay connected with that higher purpose. This re-connecting to purpose is the basis for authentic leadership which is what the PLA cultivates.

The PLA achieves its goals by focusing on three primary areas:

  • Emotional Intelligence – Increase the participant’s emotional self-awareness, emotional self-control, adaptability, positive outlook, and achievement orientation.

  • Cognitive Capacity – Increase the participant’s knowledge of healthcare systems, planning legal issues, public policy, and their ability to do “systems” thinking and recognize patterns.

  • Social Intelligence – Increase the participant’s ability to empathize, show compassion, listen to understand, influence, and show inspirational leadership.

To support this priority and PLA’s effort to help physicians become more effective leaders and thrive in the healthcare system and the community, donate today.

Made for Medicine is an initiative to attract more Black talent to the medical profession.

Black Americans make up only 5.8% of the U.S. physician workforce, therefore, Made for Medicine serves as a programmatic solution to redress the historical exclusion and underrepresentation of Blacks in the medical field.

Made for Medicine is divided into 3 phases that include: Introduction to Medicine (Grades 6-7), Deeper Dive (Grades 8-9), and Commitment to Medicine (Grades 10-12). The aim of Made for Medicine is for participants to leave the program with solid preparation and commitment to pursuing a future career in medicine.

Donate today to support this priority and Made for Medicine’s effort to help increase the number of Black doctors, advance health equity, and promote racial justice.
