Fund Descriptions

The Access HealthColumbus/Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus Fund was established to fulfill the mission of Access HealthColumbus.

The African American Women's Health Fund
was established to promote health and wellness among African American women in central Ohio.

The Allan R. Korb, MD Fund was established by Dr. Allan R. Korb with a gift of securities.  This advised fund provides Dr. Korb with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill his charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.  Became an unrestricted fund after Dr. Korb's death in 2003.

The Anne Taylor, MD and David Heutel Family Fund was established to fulfill the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation Unlimited.

The Anita Somani and David Richardson Family Fund was established to provide the Somani/Richardson Family with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.

The Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Charitable Fund was established to support projects and programs that address childhood immunizations and access to health care by the underserved populations of the greater Columbus area (tentative advised fund description).

The Arthur G.H. Bing Family Foundation Fund was established with a gift from Dr. Arthur G.H. Bing to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation.

The Ben and Florence Nichols Fund was established to support the Medical Heritage Center at The Ohio State University and the Center’s mission.

The Center for Healthy Families Fund
was established to focus on the physical, mental and social well-being of teenage parents and their families in crisis due to pregnancy.

The Central Ohio Trauma System Endowment Fund was established to support the mission of the Central Ohio Trauma System.

The Central Ohio Trauma System Operating Fund was established to support Central Ohio Trauma System's daily operations. 

The Columbus Medical Association Alliance Scholarship Fund
was established to make scholarship awards to qualified nursing and medical students.

The Columbus Medical Association and Foundation Staff (CMA/F) Fund was established by employees of the Association and Foundation with a cash gift.  This advised fund provides the CMA and CMAF staff with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable organizations, programs and projects in furtherance of the mission of the Foundation.

The Doris Hale Nursing Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Doris Hale and provides scholarship awards to qualified nursing students.

The Dr. Craig W. and Deborah Anderson Family Fund was established to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation.

The Dr. Dwight A. and Jackie Scarborough Family Fund was established with a gift from Dr. Dwight Scarborough to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation.

The Dr. G. Patrick and Laura Ecklar Family Fund was established to provide the Ecklar Family with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.

The Dr. Jeffrey G. and Brenda Bell Family Fund was established to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation Unlimited.  

The Drs. Karen and G. Paul King Family Fund was established to provide the King Family with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.

The Dr. Manuel and Madeline Tzagournis Charitable Fund was established to support the Medical Heritage Center.

The Dr. Steven L. and Christine A. Richardson Family Fund was established by Dr. Steven and Christine Richardson with a cash gift.  This advised fund provides Dr. Richardson and Christine with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.

The Dr. Timothy P. and Colleen C. Duffey Family Fund
was established with a gift from Dr. Timothy Duffey to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation.

The Eye Center Foundation Fund was established to support programs and projects that promote eye injury and disease prevention, provide ophthalmic services to the underserved, and enhance the knowledge and awareness of eye disorders and diseases among the public and health care professionals.

The Gwendolen R. and Charles W. Pavey, Jr., MD Fund was established to support programs and projects focusing on women's and infant health.

The Herbert S. Parnes Memorial Fund
was established to make grants to eligible organizations, programs or projects in furtherance of the mission of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation Unlimited.

The Kufunda Village HIV/Aids Fund was established to support the Kufunda Village HIV/Aids Project.

The Dr. Linda L. Gibson, PHD, Charitable Fund 
provides the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.   

The Luke's Brigade Fund was established to provide for medical care and first aid instruction to individuals in third world countries and to spread the gospel of Christ.

The Medical Books, Periodicals and Education Project Fund was established to support the upgrading of the teaching materials at medical institutions in countries foreign to the United States.

The Medical Heritage Center Fund was established by Dr. George W. Paulson with a gift of securities.  The Medical Heritage Center Fund (an endowment fund) will serve as the repository for individuals that wish to support the mission of the Medical Heritage Center and its program of activities.

The National Kidney Foundation of Ohio Fund
was established to fulfill the mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio, including but not limited to enhancing the knowledge and awareness level of the public and health care professions regarding kidney disorders and disease, kidney disease prevention, early detection, and care.

The Nurturing the Nursing Profession Scholarship Fund was established to make scholarship awards to one or more nursing students enrolled in a nursing training program leading to a degree or certification in nursing.

The Ohio Association of School Nurses Education and Scholarship Fund was established to promote optimal wellness among Ohio's school children and their communities through leadership education, research, training, and the support of the practice of school nursing.

The Physicians CareConnection/Physicians Free Clinic Endowment Fund was established to support the mission of the Physicians Free Clinic.

The Physicians CareConnection/Physicians Free Clinic Operating Fund was established to support the Physicians CareConnection's daily operations.

The Robert C. Kirk, MD Fundwas established by Dr. Robert C. Kirk with a gift of securities.  This permanent endowment fund supports the operations of the Physicians Free Clinic.

The Rosati Windows Foundation Fund was established with a gift from Rosati Windows, Inc. to provide support to health and wellness-related programs, projects and initiatives of interest to Rosati Windows, Inc.  The initial thrush of the fund is to provide support to the Prescription for Care program, a program to provide low cost prescription medication to the uninsured and underserved population of central Ohio.

The Sleep Medicine Research Foundation, Inc. Fund was established by the Sleep Medicine Research Foundation, Inc. with a cash gift.  This area of interest fund will be used to promote scientific research, education and training; to develop patient services and support groups; and to enhance knowledge and awareness of sleep disorders among the public and health care professionals.

The Teresa Long and Tom Denune Family Fund 
was established by Dr. Teresa Long and Tom Denune with a gift of securities.  This advised fund provides Teresa Long, MD and Tom Denune with the opportunity to recommend distributions to charitable programs, projects and organizations to fulfill their charitable giving interests in the health and wellness arena.

The Youth Philanthropy Fund
was established to make grants and awards in support of health and wellness programs, projects and initiatives that involve, impact and/or affect the youth of central Ohio.
